Caitlyn Jenner has revealed she first attempted transitioning in the 1980s.
The former Olympian made the revelation in a video played at the Makers Conference in California on Tuesday (February 2).
Jenner revealed that she underwent hormone treatment and had even grown breasts – which she says she “loved”.
Despite beginning treatment, the fear of how people would react force the star to suspend treatment.
“I started on hormones. I was a good 36B. I loved them. I thought this was fabulous,” she said.
“My mission at that point was to transition before I was 40. Got to 39… I just couldn’t go any further.”
A few months later, Jenner met her ex-wife Kris – with whom she says she was brutally honest.
“We hit it off from day one,” Jenner recalled. “I was very honest with her. I had to be, I was a 36B.
“Everything was really heading in the right direction, and I made this decision to move on with my life, Kris and I together with this family.”
Although Kris accepted her new husband, their budding relationship forced Caitlyn to take some drastic action.
“I actually had my boobs removed. I never told anyone that,” Jenner said.
“The rules with Kris and I were, ‘Don’t dress up, certainly around the house.’
“If you really need to do that, when you’re on the road, take stuff and do that.”
However, Kris has previously denied her ex-partner’s allegations – claiming she only found out about Caitlyn’s earlier treatment a decade after they were married.
“Why would you want to be married and have kids if this is what you wanted since you were a little boy?” she said.
“Why would you not explain this all to me?”
Caitlyn’s eldest son Burt, meanwhile, says he has also known his father was trans , but was sworn to secrecy by his family.
