The comic has revealed that she has had fantasies about other women – and even kissed Jennifer Saunders.
Dawn French has given a frank and honest interview about her sex life – including fantasies she has had about other women.
The actress – who recently released her third novel ‘According to Yes’ – says she has fantasised about “all kinds of things”.
“I’ve thought about it. I haven’t wanted to do it enough otherwise I would have,” she told The Telegraph .
“I’ve fantasised about all kinds of things, including [women].”
The Vicar of Dibley star also recalled locking lip with long-time comedy partner Jennifer Saunders.
French had to kiss Saunders – an experience she described as “lovely” – as part of a lesbian fantasy in Me and Mamie O’Rourke, a play they featured in together during the mid-1990s.
However, despite admitting that there are some women she finds very attractive, she does not think “she would actually do” anything.
“As far as I know I’m straight,” she said.
“There are a couple of women I think if I really met them, but they’re famous people in America that I think, ‘Oooh I think I would with her!’
“But actually confronted with the real, actual throbbing person, I’m not sure I would.”
Dawn also said she likes to have sex with the lights on and doesn’t have an issue with her body image.
In an interview with The Times Magazine, she said: “I have never done an interview without people talking about my weight.
“I am not stupid. I know this is what people seem to want. I wish they didn’t.
“It’s my shell, that’s all it is. Move on,” she added.
“I’ve never been somebody to have sex with the lights off. I don’t mind getting my gear off, I never have, and I think, ‘Why is this different?’
“And all I could think of was that in my family this was not an issue.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer Saunders this week shared images of the upcoming Ab Fab movie – as the film finally began shooting in the south of France .
“I am thrilled and excited to finally start filming,” she said.
“We are all taking our medication and hoping for the best.”
