Tesco has wished Queen Elizabeth a happy birthday, wishing her a “beautiful” day, alongside a picture of a rainbow cake.
Today marked Queen Elizabeth II’s 89th birthday.
The image was tweeted by Tesco Food, alongside the message: “Happy birthday #QueenElizabeth — we hope it’s a bright, beautiful, cake-filled day”
Whoever at Tesco tweeted the image perhaps didn’t realise that it is commonly associated with LGBT rights. Or maybe they did!
The Queen gave Royal Assent to the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act in July 2013 , paving the way for marriages to finally begin last March.
