Actor Charlie Sheen, sparked controversy when he took to the stage in Cabo, Mexico, to promote the opening of his new bar, as he used a homophobic slur.
In a video published by TMZ , the Anger Management, star addressed the audience at the El Ganzo hotel, where his new bar is based. In the video he said:
"How we doing? ... Lying bunch of f**got a**holes, how we doing?"
The 47 year old hosted the event attended by Guns N Roses guitarist, Slash, who also performed for the audience, as well as Los Angeles mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa.
Mr Sheen also tweeted a photograph of himself and the LA mayor, along with text which read:
"From Boyle Heights 2 Mayor of LA..! .... Antonio Villaraigosa knows how to party!"
The TV and film actor has now apologised for the comments, and any offence they may have caused. He said:
"I meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one and I apologize if I offended anyone... I meant to say maggot but I have a lisp."
